Specialized Movement

Here's the pattern we see constantly: someone gets treatment, feels better for a week, then the pain creeps back. Nothing was wrong with the treatment. It's that nobody changed the movement habit that created the problem. The body went right back to the same compensation, and the compensation went right back to hurting.

Specialized movement work is how we break that loop. Drawing on PRI (Postural Restoration Institute) principles and detailed movement analysis, Dr. Wolf identifies where your body is cheating, a hip that won't shift, ribs that won't rotate, a foot that never pronates, and rebuilds the pattern from the ground up.

This isn't a printout of generic clamshells. Every exercise is chosen for a specific job in your plan, coached one-on-one until you own it, and progressed until it holds up under real life: a ski season, a marathon block, a golf trip, a toddler on your hip.

What to expect: Movement work is woven through every plan at Elevated, but some patients come specifically for it, often after years of chasing symptoms elsewhere. Expect to move for most of the hour, to learn more about your own mechanics than any provider has explained before, and to leave each visit with a small, precise homework list: three exercises done right, not fifteen done wrong.

How it works here

Step 1

Analyze

A detailed movement assessment, squat, hinge, gait, breathing, rotation, to find the compensation driving your symptoms. This is where PRI training pays off: the problem is often a pattern, not a part.

Step 2

Re-educate

Precise, sometimes strange-feeling drills that teach your nervous system a position or motion it's been avoiding, often for years. This is the "neuro re-education" piece, and it's where the light-bulb moments happen.

Step 3

Load it

New patterns only stick if they're strong. We progressively load the corrected movement with functional training until it's the default under fatigue, speed, and load.

Movement questions

We think PT is valuable, but big clinics often run on generic exercise sheets and aide-supervised sessions. Here every visit is one-on-one with Dr. Wolf, every exercise is chosen for a specific mechanical job, and movement work is integrated with hands-on care in the same hour.
